Important Application Notice
Applicants must carefully review the eligibility requirements and follow all application steps as outlined. Incomplete or incorrect submissions will not be considered, and we are unable to contact applicants to address errors. Additionally, all deadlines are final, and late applications will not be accepted. Please ensure all materials are submitted accurately and on time to be considered for the scholarship.
Scholarship Qualifications and How to Apply
QUALIFICATIONS
- Maintain a passing GPA
- Be enrolled full-time as a returning to education student, pursuing at least an associate’s degree.
- Be a resident of Western North Carolina or North East Georgia.
- Provide proof of residency and enrollment in your program.
- Attend a local Western NC College or Northeast Georgia College that our organization can coordinate fundings with. We are open to connecting with your college if it is not listed, please apply and reach out to us direct. These are pre-coordinated colleges we work with
- Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College (AB Tech)
- North Georgia Technical College
- Lanier Technical College
- Submit 2-3 recommendations (at least 1 academic) with a brief explanation of why you are deserving of the scholarship.
Note: Returning to Education: A non-traditional student typically does not follow the traditional path of enrolling in college immediately after high school, often returning to education after a significant break while balancing other responsibilities.
HOW TO APPLY
- Write a brief general essay (under 1,200 words) detailing:
- Why you have returned to school.
- The journey you are on.
- What you hope to achieve upon graduation.
- Gather all required documents, including:
- Your essay.
- Proof of enrollment.
- Recommendations.
- Complete the online application form on the Scholarships page.
- Submit your application by the deadline. If you are a late applicant please reach out to us direct, when able to try to work with applicants on case by case basis.
- Double-check your submission to ensure all materials are accurate and included.
WHAT YOU RECEIVE
Women 4 Mentors Scholarship Applications open on January 30, 2025. Award announcements will be made by Summer 2025. Scholarship funds, totaling $1,500, will be disbursed in two installments: $750 for Fall 2025 and $750 for Spring 2026, sent directly to recipients’ colleges. Review the guidelines and prepare to apply!
SCHOLARSHIP DISBURSEMENT REQUIREMENT
To receive the second disbursement of the scholarship (which is sent directly to the college), recipients must:
- Be enrolled in the Spring 2026 semester. If a recipient is not enrolled at that time, they will forfeit the second disbursement.
